Bob Stedman, Executive Director, is a long time player in the medical fitness industry comes with 30+ years of experience managing facilities for such places as UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC; FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, NC; The NutraSweet Company (WellBridge) in Newton, MA; and Riverside Health System in Newport News, VA. He has been responsible for opening 15 hospital owned medical fitness centers, and has consulted on 21 other medical fitness center openings. He was one of the early members of the Medical Fitness Association, and was the founding president of the Southeastern Health & Fitness Association. Bob recently served on the board of directors of the Medical Fitness Association. He has been a featured speaker at IHRSA, the Medical Fitness Association, Southeastern Hospital Health & Fitness Alliance and Club Business International. His expertise includes design, development, operations, programming, and medical integration with the hospital system. Bob holds a B.S. from The University of Maine in mathematics, and a M.S. in Exercise Physiology from The University of Pittsburgh. He received the Wellness Achievement Award in 1995 for pioneering efforts in developing successful hospital-based wellness and fitness centers in America. Bob is an avid cyclist and competitive swimmer.
